In 2013 Big LLou Johnson, Blues Music Award Winner and the beloved voice of BB Kings Bluesville on Sirius Satellite radio kicked off the first Hall of Fame Tribute Jam.  The event was created out of a desire to share with those blues fans attending the annual Blues Music Awards, the opportunity to meet and greet the Hall of Fame inductees and hear their music performed by some of the biggest names in blues! Or perhaps hear Hall of Famers jamming all night long!

The event was billed as a "party with a purpose".. and the purpose of the first "Jam" was to help with raising funds for the Blues Foundation's "Capitol Campaign" to build a permanent home for all Hall of Fame Inductees plus "Music Heals Memphis" a local based charity providing nursing services to blues musicians.

We build long-term relationships with the blues community, donors, volunteers, members and partners who support our efforts to serve those who are committed to preserving one of American's most original art forms.  To date, "The Jam" has raised over $50,000 dollars for organizations supporting the blues, including The Blues Foundation's Capital Campaign & Music Heals Memphis and more.

2017s 5th Annual Tribute Jam raised funds for the Blues Hall of Fame. For 2015, the recipients of our fund-raising efforts were the Blues Foundation's educational program "Generations Blues" & Fernando Jones' Blues Kids.  These programs are directly responsible for "keeping the blues alive" through mentoring and educational activities for young musicians worldwide.

Big LLou's Blues Hall of Fame Tribute Jam has become the "must attend" event for blues aficionados making the trek to Memphis for the annual Blues Music Awards. Held the night of the Blues Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the event is attended by Blues Hall of Famers, Blues Music Award Nominees, industry movers and shakers and blues supporters from around the world.  This the is Blues After Party with a Purpose!
